I tend to come in to the forum, click on recent posts and expect to see all the recent posts.

I then click my name, scroll through notifications to find a load more posts I haven't read.

Why aren't these appearing in recent posts?

I think it may be related to filters

Am I correct in assuming the only forums post that appear in recent are forums you are watching or forums you have added to the filter?

Surely it should be the other way round and all posts show from all forums unless you want to filter them out?

It looks like I haven't been seeing 100's of posts recently

I’ve just got one filter set up on recent posts: unread. This seems to show everything.

This is the link I use:

That's similar to the one I use

Still only seeing 2 posts though, not seeing yours (even when clearing the unread filter

I've gone back to using my old new posts bookmark

    [Edited Out]

All displays fine using that, strange though

Edit: I've edited the link out because that's the one Ozzy didn't particularly want people to use.

Thanks, but that is a completely different view to Recent Posts
The link you posted took me to latest posts not recent posts.

    I use this link - www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/find-new/3187846/posts

Although it redirects, so must be an old bookmark. Not sure if that's the same as those posted above. I think I found that link, as the link the site gave at the time
didn't show a lot of the posts from the mini-boards.

Yes, that does the same as the one I use, number is different, but it goes to same place (the number doesn't even have to be included)

It may not be you @UKSBD and may be related to the recent forum reshuffle, as some forums were merged together and some deleted, so it may have messed up the rules that control what is and what is not allowed to show in the recent posts.
I'm waiting for @Ethan39 to come back off holiday for him to take a look :)

    Upon more investigation....

When you look at Recent Posts it highlights the threads that have updated since your last visit.

The Latest Posts shows you all activity.

Two different ways to see what's been happening.

When you say Latest Posts do you Mean the link that says Latest Activity?

I think that display is horrible

There is also a Recent Posts (the one I was having problems with) and a New Posts (there is no link for this anywhere, you have to know it and have it bookmarked)

The New posts is by far the best for me, you can either show all posts with new ones highlighted or set a filter so it only displays unread posts.

Yes, I mean latest activity. And I agree it’s pretty horrible.

New posts will not show the same as Recent posts. They pull data differently. If you want to see all threads that have been updated you need to use the Recent Posts option.

The Recent Posts link is the one that is broken for me (not showing all recent posts, i do get notifications about them though)

    New Posts is working fine.

    However....

I now see the same as you. Threads get dropped from the recent posts list. @Ozzy, this has nothing to do with the forum changes, this is something more fundamental.

When I look at latest posts there are threads I've never seen.

So I agree @UKSBD - the recent posts is borked.

    new.jpg

As you can see, post are missing when using Recent Posts

If others use the Recent Posts link they are missing lots of posts

What happens if you set the filter to only show unread?

All threads do appear. But when you revisit they no longer show.

Didn't know you had replied until I looked in the Latest Activity.

No point in me looking at notifications as I've disabled them all. Makes for a much quieter life, no emails, dings and bleeps.

Yup. @Ozzy you need to get this sorted, people will be missing out on a whole load of threads.

Got the server rebuilding the threads and posts, and the indexes to see if that helps. Will take several hours to complete so the forums may go a bit janky perhaps whilst it's going on
