When I register a limited company I will need a proper Registered Business Address. Can I give a P.O.Box nbr as my own, home address ? I want to avoid correspondence with the name of my company on it being delivered to my home. For reasons to do with the local environment.
Do firms that carry out Business Address registration accept an order from a P. O. Box nbr ?
Would be grateful for comments. Thank you.

Solution
If you register an address at Companies House as the registered address then as you may have already found out, it must be a full and valid address. PO Boxes are not accepted unless the address also includes the full correct house number, street, etc.

So this is fine;
PO Box 123
14 Locatia Avenue
Anytown
AB12 3CD

This is not fine;
PO BOX 123
Anytown
AB12 3CD

There are companies like one our sponsors @1st Formations who provide mail redirection services for Limited companies who may be able to help you. Once you have been able to verify your ID and proof of address they may be able to redirect to PO Box addresses fine. They'll be able to confirm this though.

    Why dont you just use a virtual office you would only give your home address to them and that would not be disclosed to anybody

    Search on this site (UKBF) you should find somebody

    Hi!

    We'd be more than happy to help you register your company and provide you with a registered office service.

    If you'd like us to accept all mail (rather than just 'official' government mail) we recommend picking up our business address service, as well as our registered office service.

    You'll find a number of links in our signature, alternatively, if you want to send us a Private Message with your mobile and email - I'll arrange for a member of the team to get in touch.

    We look forward to hearing from you.

    @Ozzy - thanks for the mention :)

    Best wishes,

    Hi,
    I just went through this process for similar reasons, but I think the P.O box thing isn't acceptable any more.
    I used a company called "Registered Address", it cost me £168 to set up the company (sounds like you've already done that), set the company as addressed there, and set my contact address as there too. (they have multiple addresses). They're pretty good so far.
    Also they gave me a promo code for 15% which I can share - 757JRES

    People do check addresses and can usually spot a virtual address. It takes seconds to find the address using street view and if doesn’t look right that’s your credibility out the windows. It can hurt your credit rating and make getting a loan more difficult. Some addresses are even on a blacklist.

    I can understand why people do this but there are often more negatives than positives

    Wow I never knew this, thanks for that.
    For me it's not a problem for the size of business but I see your point, as the business grows, I would look into the impact of that.
