Why don't people just pay or don't use non-essential service

None of which needs SEO

If this is the suggestion from the seo agency they are doing it wrong. A post here won’t help your ranking. They really are taking the mick.

I gave them 3 months and told them i want x amount as ROI, and they delivered so I don't think they're taking the mick

Ads does need SEO, i socred 85% overall as my ads optimisation score!!!

They are talking a load of bollox.

they're delivering leads!!!

To get back to your original post, you are concerned about rich people using your service and not paying

I also understand you charge your drivers out at £70K PA

Your complaining about a customer who owes you £900

I don't see your problem, you had a contract and they never paid so just put a claim in via the court

Is your company confused .com or something like that

You are not supplying Luxury just a service that delivers a customer and his family safely to their destination, and the driver is trained to protect as far as possible, the occupants from and hazards or outside interference whist on the journey

Please explain fully in not more than 50 words why on earth you started this post

If you read the question, It was nothing to do with my company and was general questions for me to understand why someone would not use a Minicab firm but instead use a luxury firm.

So, you're telling providing the clients with less than 3 year old Mercedes and less than 5 year old Rolls Royce doesn't constitute me as a luxury service???

Simply by the name of the cars?
No.

Luxury would be beyond that - in how customer was treated, facilities available etc.

Provide a couple of escorts to keep a guy company while travelling in the RR along with a couple of magnums of champagne and a selection of spirits and that could be luxury. :)
Provide a taxi service and its merely expensive.

Now if you had a vintage Bentley with appropriate entertainment and drinks.... I'd be interested.

Could not pay me to run a taxi company. I prefer higher profit lower cost businesses.

Come on, you can't pretend you actually use that copy for clients. The English is terrible, much worse than you'd ever see in any sort of business, let alone a prestigious one. It's written the way a child would write it, which brings me back to my point about it being the school holidays.

Just catching up on this thread... It's hilarious.

As for the OP, my original post stands, you're not in luxury. You're in the car hire business / novelty market.

I'm getting back to my feather pillows. Where are my damn chocolates?

And to think the wedding car I booked 26 years ago was £120 and needed it for picking up the bride, then over an hour after dropping her off needing to then take bride and groom to reception. Total car time less than 2 hours.
Vintage car, very nice. Owner didn't market his part time business as luxurious though.

Maybe don’t call them Mr and Mrs Mugs in the future.

    Free marketing tip for you.

ahahah, cracked me up that one lol

I didn't use the copy, my sales person did and he got the sale. All I care about is the £2k hitting my bank account.

To keep discretion, I did seek your assistance however you asked too many questions.

If I'm not in the Luxury market then why're my client willing to pay 5x for a service? Also why is turnover last year 980,000? Stick to what you know please.

Wedding is only a small part of my business

    Corporate is 65%
    Tours is 10%
    Airport transfer+Shopping+Weddings is the remaining

This is not a part-time business. We're fully running business with over 10 Luxury vehicles including Rolls Royce Ghost and Rolls Royce Phantom, Range Rover Autobiography LWB, Mercedes S-class, Mercedes Jet Class and Mercedes V-class. If is what is considered a part-time business that I want me 3 of those.

My part-time business is my amazon store.

Those with one car who don't need the money may well run a part time business a couple of dozen Saturdays a year.
Not uncommon to see people with one very nice classic car use it for weddings.

I know you don't like my long answers so I will keep this brief... Expensive doesn't mean luxury. Saying something is luxury because it's expensive is ridiculous. Plenty of companies turnover over millions selling cheap, crappy products, but it doesn't make them luxury providers either.

A million turnover for a glorified private taxi company is commendable though, I'll give you that.

Please don't refer to my business as a "Glorified taxi firm", it is a Luxury Chauffeur Firm which holds customer safety and sanctification as our highest priority.

Both are companies. You run yours full time because you choose to.
Someone not needing the income may do it simply for enjoyment.

Ok we won't refer to your business that way. Does not mean people will think different....
And what the heck is sanctification in that respect? Contract with the Church maybe? :)

Why are you so hell bent on proving that you own a luxury business? :D

Agreed regarding the copy in your customer response though...wouldn't be the kind of thing that would persuade me to spend £2k on hiring a car for a few hours or even give me the impression that you valued my enquiry/business.

Ah man, I can't help but feel this guys getting a slightly rough ride (ahem).

As someone who was about to get married whilst lockdown was in full strength, me and my partner were looking at wedding cars, and taking an objective view (even though there's zero chance me personally would spend £2k on a car for 1 sodding day - my OH on the other hand...), his response isn't the worst I've had or seen...

Ok it's a bit copy-and-paste and certain aspects of the English could be improved (I'm guessing not native language?), but as an initial enquiry response it's not terrible and from a customer perspective it tells me what I need to know about the packages - namely, what's included, what's not; price, time, add ons.

I get that it could probably be re-done to convince me more but if his offering, price, and availability were within my parameters, it wouldn't rule him out.

What's much worse is asking for a quote along the lines of "dear... we're in the process of booking our wedding cars for x date, and were hoping to find out if you have availability for the car you've listed... We have a rough guideline of timings for our day and it is below..."

Then recieving back "yes. It's available".

Oh ok - thanks then? No further detail or a "call me heres my number".

As for non paying customers - yeah every penny counts but if you're genuinely turning close to £1m a year then £900 is probably less than you use for petty cash in the year; your prices are certainly not "cheap" - a 7 hour day in a white phantom can be bought for about £1000-1200 in all honesty.

    EDIT as an example:https://turo.com/gb/en/car-rental/united-kingdom/london/rolls-royce/phantom/773202?searchId=lcECNiny

I reckon your pricing is probably a reason why people walk away when you ask for money up front - if I was in the market for a luxury driver, I'd probably be savvy enough to know a £50 bottle of fizz is priced into a product that's probably about 40% higher than available elsewhere and I'd probably continue searching :)

Thank you for being honest opinion, clearly it looks there is something wrong with the sales pitch which I will make a new topic to ask improvements for.

In terms of your 2nd point, Yes you're able to get it for much cheaper however you would trust them to deliver on your big day? What if the car is not valet or smells of cigarettes? Will they guarantee the chauffeur will turn up dressed professionally, Clean shaven and smelling neutral

It is these small details that make a big difference.

Finally, the £900 is still money that we worked hard and might have had to reject jobs so I expect to be compensated, If I ignore the £900 then the employees will let happen it when it happens next time. It's more about the company's principal then the £900.

Good point, but not one that is addressed in your email to customers.

What guarantee do you give? Money back? Immediate replacement driver?

In the early days, I use to do lot hard-selling with Money back guarantee but what I noticed was the customer would complain about every little details they could find in order to get some of their money back but I think medium selling approach is the best.

For Hotels that use us we offer them complimentary car for staff use off-peak which is a big selling point us. As sometimes they can save £££ money

So, you don't guarantee that the car will be valeted, not smell of cigarettes, or the chauffeur will be presentable.

That's fine, but it makes your comparison pointless. All you're left with is we cost more so we're better.
