Hello, I have been using Siteground for a couple years now who have been really easy to work with but have recently purchased a new hosting account with Krystal hosting as I've been recommended to try them out and they are around half the price of Siteground.

I'm not a techy person but found both host providers to be really helpful, reliable and easy to use. The only downside to Siteground is that after your first year, prices do go up a fair bit but were still competitive enough to stop me jumping ship in too much of a hurry. I have renewed at the higher rate twice so far but thought I would give Krystal a go purely down to the number of times I have heard them being recommended and on checking their prices, seemed like a no-brainer, however, I haven't had any technical issues yet with Krystal so can't comment on how well they perform there. Siteground problems were always solved within the hour and found them to be extremely helpful (for someone that isn't techie minded) with just about every issue I have come across. I think in the whole two years I have been with Siteground, I have had around 3 hours of downtime in total but were resolved before I even read the email stating my site was down.

I'm probably not the best person to review hosting providers but from a novice point of view, Siteground to me has been fantastic (just be aware of the price increase) and Krystal, (so I have been told) is supposed to be good too... Krystal also have servers in the UK which I heard is supposed to help SEO if your service is UK based but that could be dribble as I'm no expert and could of read a load of dribble lol.

Please recommend me any good non-godaddy based hosting company which can give good uptime, currently i am with Vida host and they are not good any more after Godaddy takeover

Can you share more details on requirement, are you looking for Shared , VPS or dedicated hosting. If you are looking for non-godaddy hosting then you might be knowing even 1and1, 123reg, toshost are now part of godaddy.

I use @TotalWebSolutions the pricing and service is way better than godaddy as all my business's domain names are with godaddy but the hosting is a shamble and they never give you the price they have on the godaddy site, so I recommend you speak to Simon at totalweb very frank and honest and forward pricing and options and they will also work with you if you need merchant services.

Here are three the choice is yours

    www.hihosting.co.uk

    https://www.hostxnow.com/

    https://krystal.co.uk/

In my eyes and I am using all of them for different reasons they are all good.

Of that list, Krystal are established & excellent. For the other two it is difficult to find information on if they are a real, registered company with associated trading history, accounts, etc. You should consider all of these points given that many hosting companies appear then disappear without trace (and customer's data!). I'm not saying this will happen here but the lack of transparency around legal structure is a warning sign.

There are many forum members here who are using hihosting (myself included) and are very happy with their service. Let's not forget that webhosting is very competitive and even the bigger companies with trading history and accounts etc go bust leaving their customers in the brown stuff

As a matter of interest if you feel that Vidahost are no good why do you have an affiliate link to them in your signature using the anchor text "Best UK Web Hosting"

Ugh, I wasn’t aware that Vidahost had been acquired by GoDaddy, and I really don’t like GoDaddy.

I’m an old Compila customer and they were fab and Vidahost have been really good since buying them out.

To be fair to Vidahost, I had a problem last Saturday and it wasn’t answered and resolved within an hour. But my latest website does seem to be a bit sluggish so I’m guessing they may be ‘packing them in’ on their shared hosting, something GoDaddy have always done.

Best I've used so far is Interserver.net, what I like about them is when you have a problem, they solve it quickly even if it is not chat. Their support team might be also the tech team as well, so just explain your issue well and they solve it right away.

Next in line is Siteground. The thing about Siteground is when you use the quota your subscribed to, you get an semi-offline message.

    Both are fast though.

    Hello, I recommend you SSRHOST
Base on London and totally independent hosting provider.
I would be concerned that at the bottom of their home page none of the links seems to work including Contact Us.

What would keep me away from this particular business is it's very short trading history from what I can see it was first registered on 9th Feb 2017 (the domain name that is) and also from what I can see it was only registered for one year.

Other things that would concern me is certain wording like "Cheap Domain" domains would of been a better use of wording, and under support I can see "Open Tiket" and the "Call Us" under the support tab takes you nowhere.

For right now I would say AVOID this host.

Yes the domain ssrhost.co.uk is new but what about ssrhost.com we just move our servers from Germany on London because we do a partnership with a DC here.
Also you can check how many domains we host before.
Also on the footer you can find the main company is SSR System Ltd.
Also you can find us on TrustPilot.

Then I think your review is unfair.
    Please make a good research.

The reason I mention all this is because both domain names the co.uk and the .com are going to the co.uk. The fact is the co.uk is registered for one year, the fact is the website does have the issues I mentioned. there is nothing wrong with my research at all. There is also an ssl issue if you go to ssrhost.com my browsers tell me.

So you say you are on Trust Pilot you have 3 reviews from what I just seen for ssrhost.co.uk and the first one sounds like it was written by you I say this due to the grammar

So lets look at those reviews October 14th 2017 reads like you reviewed it yourself, then October 16th 2017, and 26 hours ago. This would not create enough confidence for customers, considering one of them reads like it has been self penned.

On Trust Pilot SSR System Ltd seems to be an installer of all things internet including CCTV camera's which is totally different from the web hosting side of things which was what you were promoting. Hence I stand by my original post.

    I made great research.

Take my words as constructive criticism not personal. If your website is not ready, then don't put it out there for customers to find fault with as I did.

There are umpteen threads here on the same subject so why not search some out and read the previous comments

Because items like the advice you gave to my thread about this very same question a year ago are now semi redundant and the one company you recommended have made one update to their Facebook page in 2 years.

So you see, it is necessary to keep asking the same question as what was once good can often now be a pile of crap.

Firstly I was talking about people asking the same question every fortnight not once a year and secondly what has updating their Facebook page got to do with whether or not they are a good web host.

I don't suppose that I have updated my Facebook page for well over a year but that doesn't make me a bad broker, just one that doesn't see much value in promoting my business on Facebook.

Looking back on the thread from a year ago that you mentioned I see that I recommended forum member Hi Hosting on the basis that I used them and was very happy with their service. If you look back earlier on this thread you will see that I still recommend them as I am still happy with them

I might not consider a lack of updates on a public web space for for a broker that significant but one would question why you start something and then lose interest or focus but for someone whose business is in digital media then I think a lack of effort into maintaining and keeping their online profile updated would suggest a more worrying slide perhaps and at least, a lack of interest in their business.

It is horses for courses of course but IMHO, far better not to have anything displayed than for it to be out of date and stale.
