it was there before but on the right hand side, needs to go back there as it's "too in your face" on the left.

I tend to agree. Reading from the left to the right is kind of the natural thing to do. With the bar on the left, your getting through a lot of stuff before you end up at what your originally came to see.

This was mentioned as a update and nobody liked the idea. Showing me the latest posts maybe but not the tripe that is currently listed. They aren't even posts, they are articles not even listed in the forum to which they are attributed.

I understand what Sift are trying to do but this isn't the right direction to take.

I don't particularly like the thing on left, but I haven't looked at it as I'm not interested in it. So it doesn't bother me that much.

Putting Time Out and Community at the top of the board seems to be working well, as that has got a lot busier which is great. Maybe UKBF can get back to having a community feel to it.

On a small screen the left adverts take over. The posts occupy less than half the screen. This design is terrible. On a quick glance it looks like its just an advert site.

And doing the UAT (User Acceptance Tests) on the live site is dumb.

There are plenty here that could have tested a development copy and given feedback.

There was user testing done with chosen members (me included) but I only saw an image of the site and it looked ok but when actually using it the left bar is too distracting

I agree with everyone else. Important stuff should be on the left and surely the important stuff in a forum is the forum itself and not links.

I don't normally complain about changes but this is one that I really don't like

Agree - terrible innovation, actually uncomfortable to read in landscape on iPad.

Magically, all the unnecessary gumph vanishes when I tilt my iPad to portrait.

On forums I used to own the ads generated more revenue on the left than on the right. That may be a factor in why it's been moved here.

Can't say it bothers me either way. Sites need to make money to keep going.

Except it not ads on the left. It's UKBF content. Which are articles. For which we already have BusinessZone.

I'm really not a fan of this.

The left sidebar is just too wide and in the wrong place. It ends up reducing the width of all the forum posts even after that sidebar has finished, so I'm scrolling down threads and the posts are only filling up 2/3 of the screen with a huge amount of empty space on the left.
