MAC users and apostrophes

Quick question for any MAC users

Is the default setting on a MAC to use dumb apostrophes or smart apostrophes?

I very occasionally have problems with one of my forms ,which I think is when MAC users use apostrophes.

The apostrophes also display wrong when they email me, doesn't comes out as doesn¹t for example.

Is this standard behaviour on a MAC or are they using a shortcut key for apostrophes?

That's a strange one and not something we've certainly seen before...

If it's any help. I'm typing this on a Macbook Pro and the ' (apostrophes) appear fine.

Thinking it might be a system font issue?

It's to do with encoding and the ISO versions being different on the Mac and PC (or something like that).

Any way they can usually fix it by going into their outlook preferences and selecting Composing, then down at the bottom check Preferred encoding... and select Unicode UTF-8 from the pull down.

I'm typing this on a Mac Pro and no issues, but strange things don't happen to everyone. I've seen the fix above work when it does.

Seconding what Andy says. I reckon this is an encoding issue. We don't see this issue with our contact form.
