Hey all, thought I'd give you a quick update.

I've managed to turn my £10 into £75 in three days.

So happy I've finally found something that's worth investing into.

Thanks all again for the ideas brought forward.

I used to do this all the time and got quite good at spotting the gems hidden away and made myself a decent living.
I don't do it now as I just can not bring myself to get up a stupid o'clock in the morning any more but the money is there if you know what to look for.
Bull workers are a good one. You can usually pick them up for £1 and they always sell for £20 plus.
My best buy and sell was a chess set made of Mexican azure granite or something like that. I bought it for £6 and it sold it for many hundreds of pounds. I only bought it because it looked good and boy was I right.

It's amazing what people can find at carboot sales

I think im going to a car boot sale this sunday! I'll have to see what I can find :)

I bought 4 pine chairs from my local car boot two weeks ago.

Two ordinary chairs and two captains style, they were modern, chunky and in great condition. They cost me £5.00 for the 4 (I haggled 3.50) off the price:D

It was a cold wet day and the man did not want to load them back in his car, and there were very few other punters that day, so he accepted my offer.

I put them in a local general sale, and after commission I made £18 profit.

I did nothing to them other than giving them a good clean and polish, and used a scuff pen on one of the legs - 20 minutes work in total.

Just got to keep your eyes peeled.

Pops ~xx~

Well done mate - I'm going to claim credit as the one who told you to go to a car boot sale! :)

But I did also say in that post that it wasn't rocket science, but most of us were to lazy to go out and do it. You've done it and turned that tenner into a ton. Well done, and well deserved.

Really pleased for you and really pleased that you let us know how you got on.

Thanks

Jeff

Nicely written and a well presented article, with a good pic to illustrate. If I were rude and picky I would point out a couple of spelling errors, but they didn't really detract.

You could probably submit this to a mag and get paid for it. Also, if this is typical of your writing style - direct, fast-paced, but chatty and informative - you might be able to pick up other writing jobs.

I'd carry on with that blog if I were you.
