Okay, so i have an idea which i think could really break in to a market which has not yet been disturbed, personally i believe it is a top idea, and people i have mentioed this to feel the same. I am just now 100% sure on how to get this idea marketed? Or who to ask/ see about the idea. It isn't a business but is a product.

Nobody. You find the cash, patent and prototype it. Then you decide whether to build a business around it or try to license it.

Then patent it would be my advice and then decide if you want to try and distribute yourself, or speak to an existing company which would probably be easier. Sorry I can't be more specific but unless we know exactly what it is it is very difficult.

How would i go about speaking to an existing company? As it would most likely be a large distributor for the product i am considering, who would i get in contact with of that business to try sell my idea to?

I wish schools would tell people that ideas are ten a penny and that pennies don't buy anything.

You're asking a bunch of naive questions - do some research and work out how you can get your hands on £5-10k Then ask specifics.

If you look after your pennies, the pounds will look after themselves, were you taught that?

Yep, and that many a mickle makes a muckle and also that a red sky at night is a shepherd's delight. All boll0cks of course but it takes all sorts to make a pigs ear out of a silk purse,
