Great SEO company, but need more?

Hi, I'm new on here, so be gentle.

We are working with a great SEO company who have done terrific things for us in the way of ranking organically on Google (page 1 for the search term 'loans') - however, I am now looking to put something together to gain additional traffic.

I've heard about Affiliate schemes etc, but can someone give me other alternatives to generate traffic?

I guess I'm being greedy here, we get significant amounts of traffic coming through the site, but just looking for other inspirations apart from SEO/Social Media/Online PR/PPC

Be careful when asking for extra traffic as you could get traffic that is totally wrong for your business

If you get loads of traffic already try working on converting that traffic,

Being greedy is not a bad thing, but traffic alone wont help unless your sites converting,

If you flick through some of the topics on this forum, you would be amazed how much just a 1% increase in conversion could have on a site, it would totally out weight the cost of getting that little extra traffic if you are already ranking well for a very competative keyword already..

hmmm, we tried banner ads a while ago and it wasn't effective at all....which platform do you use Steve?

I've tried banner ads on Google targeted content network which got the clicks but didn't convert profitably.

I think Steve is meaning an affiliate scheme, hopefully he'll poke his nose back in this thread soon

The easiest place to dip your toe is via image ads on google's display network.

Very easy to control, very easy to measure and you don't need to start with a huge volume.

If that works, you can approach other networks.

You can get 1p clicks with image ads as well! But I have always found that text ads perform alot better.

I think our posts crossed, this is exactly what I have tried previously, now I think about it, it was a low cost product, I think I will revisit this next week and let you know how I get on with a higher priced product.

As I said, Google's a good place to start because you can start small, test and refine, before you go and buy a huge number of impressions from one of the big boys.

I must admit i have had some really good campaign running off banners but you need to give it full your attention if your going to do it.
CPM rates vary from industry to industry and i would avoid run of site if your product is a niche industry.

Current cpm can be from 80p to £10 or £20 (loans) also sky scrapers have the better results in campaigns i have done. Roll-overs have really good click through rates because they are very intrusive but don't take that as successful, a lot of clicks are by accident
