Young Enterprise ideas

This year, myself and a group of classmates from Kesteven and Grantham Girls School have taken part in the Young Enterprise project. We are all 16/17 years old and want to do as well as we can, we have to come up with a product idea to sell in and around the local area and on-line. We initially had food based ideas however it has transpired for health and safety it is best to steer away from this and so have to start a fresh with our ideas. We have big access to markets and school fairs at which we can sell our products so children or their parents is a good market to aim for! We are hoping for something with low start up costs which can get us going nice and soon.
Any ideas however big, small or simple would be much appreciated, we are in the East Midlands in Lincolnshire if anyone can offer assistance,
Many Thanks,
KG Young Enterprise

A really cheap option is real wood key rings.

Go into a wood and find a branch about 25-45mm thick. Cut it into 5-10mm slices. Cut some straight across, and some diagonally.

Sand them down with some fine sandpaper and then paint some varnish on.

Drill a small hole and add a key ring. No idea what they would cost but I bet it's peanuts.

You could draw designs on with a marker pen before varnishing. Have some with bark on, some without. Some with deep woodstain, some clear varnish etc etc, loads of different choices.

Have some not stained, and offer to customise them on the day, or take orders.

You could have a stall filled with unique, one off pieces in no time for almost no cost.

Edit: found this if you aren't sure the sort of thing I mean-

If you are going to take up this idea make sure you use a branch that has fallen off a tree.
