Yotpo Reviews vs other review programs

I am using Magento to develop my e-commerce store. I am looking for a review system other than the magento built in system and came across Yotpo. As wonderful as it sounds, I can't justify the large monthly costs whilst I am in the beginning months of my business.

Can anyone recommend other review systems that work with Magento?

Thank you

I have yotpo account costs me around $30 a month and I like it, they recently announced that they'll be adding product ratings to display on google shopping.... When I enquirer about the price it was something ridiculous like $400 a month. Don't think I'm gonna pay more than 10x what I'm currently paying a month just for stars next to my Listings on Google!

We use Yotpo and are also on the original premium plan (a fraction of the current cost). The functionality is good for the price (we get more useful features than the new starter price tier) and they used to introduce new functionality regularly. They attracted a lot of sellers from Shopify, Bigcommerce and their ilk, then sadly once the customer base was there, they turned the screw..

First it was Facebook ads - a good concept and good earner for them (10% uplift) but they would auto top up and increase your spend without you feeling in control.

Then they brought out new features along with new pricing tiers and you guessed it, if you want the new features, you have to move to pro level and above. At more than 10x the times the price (!) we can live without the stars on Google product listings.

i don't know who they are targetting but considering a considerable number of their customer base must be smaller retailers that use hosted platforms such as Shopify, why they think you would pay more than the monthly cost of the e-commerce platform itself is beyond me. I actually thought I'd mis-read the cost as annual not monthly..

I thought Trustpilot was expensive (hence why we went with Yotpo) but the Yotpo tiers now are silly. A great shame as the platform is good and was shaping up nicely providing good features at an affordable price.

You should take a look at TrustSpot - trustspot.io

Free Plan up to 30 reviews a month .. pricing starts at $29 a month for 300 orders + loads of features and Google SEO to help boost your overall site traffic.

Our pricing (if you need to upgrade) is much friendly for the small business community, as it ranges from Free - $29 - $79 - $149 - $399 compared to:

Yotpo = Free - $399 - $699 - $1,299
TrustPilot = $599 - $999 - $1,499
ResellerRatings = $149 +
ShopperApproved = $600 a year (pricing based on accumulated reviews NOT monthly amount which is pretty weird and more costly for businesses).

Thanks,
ryan

I am currently reviewing the options - between trustpilot, feefo and yotpo, and now trustspot.
I was recommended Yotpo because of their ability to get user generated content (UGC), which according to (their and other sources) increased the conversion rate considerably. I would be able to pay more for a service if I was making more from it. It's not a cost in that sense but an investment. UGC is a hot topic amongst online 'pro's.

I don't think Trustpilot or the others have this kind of service.
Trust spot is new for me, and is pretty full-on on its homepage by going after Yotpo, and I would be interested to know if it can compete on UGC and other Yotpo advertised services, not just on price.

Yotpo is the best if the cheaper ones, however if you want your products to appear in google listings (both shopping or organic listing) then you will not be able to add rich snippets (like review qty, average review score, "in stock", plus others) without going up a plan, which I think puts you at about £400 a month. I've switched from yotpo to reviews.co.uk and while the price may be about 2x per month I now can add all these rich snippets to my listings, and they update regularly when google recrawls my site and sees the new reviews. I pay £82.90 inc vat per month for it but it's 100% worth it. You can also import your old reviews

We have been with reviews for about a year now for both sites and can only say good things about them.

The market leaders Trustpilot & Feefo are pretty more in this regard and not keeping up with technologyy. Yotpo is good but expensive for the full package. As an alternative to trustpilot, I would look at trustr which is feature rich, great for user generated content and has some great deals at the moment.

To answer one of the earlier posts..

Our platform matches Yotpo in terms of features and we even offer some more.. The best part though is we keep our pricing pretty affordable and we don't charge a huge premium for using Visual Marketing in your plans.

I heard Yotpo (2 weeks ago) got rid of their $400 plan and rolled everything into their $700 plan, which is even more expensive.

We started offering Product Level Reviews about 8 months ago and are pretty competitive wit Yotpo in terms of UGC features.

As mentioned the main differences are:

1. Price - We start at $29 per month and scale up from there.
2. Support - We offer Live Chat, Phone and Email support. Our Live Chat typically answers you within a few minutes.
3. Contract Free - Yotpo requires you to sign a contract and pay the whole thing upfront, whereas our pricing is contract-free / purely month-month.

If you have any questions about TrustSpot specifically.. feel free to let me know.

Thanks,
Ryan
