Last week on the 19th August I agreed to a deal with Yell for a PPC campaign, but soon realised that it was a mistake. The reason being that my website had only just gone live 2 days before, I have no solid business plan and the quality of my website is very poor.
The pitch I was given over the phone was quite good and it seemed like a good way to get some customers, but now I realise that it's unlikely this will work and I will be running up a bill of up to £100 a month with a low click through rate.
My business account currently has £90 in it with a lot of my money recently spent on equipment and upgrades, so a gamble on £100 a month PPC campaign is far too risky at this time.
The first month was free, and from my understanding the agreement was a rolling month to month contract, but it looks like it's a 6 month minimum contract, it's worded in a misleading way. In the terms and conditions that I downloaded from my Yell.com account page, it states that I have the right to cancel the agreement within 14 business days the day after receiving it.
I sent a written form signed and dated 22/08/16 along with a letter and then phoned Yell, initially it seemed all fine, the representative agreed to cancel it and I would receive a confirmation that day. An email came, but it was a welcoming email to joining Yell, so the next day I phoned back, this time I was put on hold but was cut off. So I phoned back and then was told by another team member that it was being raised to management for it to be authorised and I would get the confirmation by 27/08/16.
I sent an email the other day of the signed agreement cancelation form and I have also got a copy of the Royal mail 'signed for' reciept and proof of signature.
They must be trying to hang on to me and perhaps try to persuade me to stay in the contract, but I have made a final decision to cancel it.
I feel quite stressed about it because from what I've been reading some business contracts are not easy to get out of, however this one does seem to have a 14 day cancelation policy.
Any advise is welcome.
Thanks
