Year End quick question

Another quick question - I cannot do my year end in sage (ye 30.09.2014) as I am still awaiting a few purchase invoices. Everything else is correct I think.However, does this mean I cannot make any new sales invoices from 01.10.2014? Everytime |I make it it says "this is outside your financial year" I can choose to proceed but will this mess with my year end in anway or not affect. Once I have completed the year end, will these invoices still be intact? I am scared to make them if I mess up my entire year of accounts!

No you can leave the year end open as long as you like. Anything dated in the new financial year will go into this year.

As David says, it will make no difference the transactions will just go in to the 'future' until the year end is run.

On the message box, there should be a check box that allows the message to be paused for the new year so it won't appear again.

One of the drawbacks of the 'future' period is that many of Sage's reports don't give a month by month breakdown of the total in that period until after the year end process has been run. You'll want to factor that into your decision on how long to leave the year open.
