Hello,
I asked a qhile back for your views on the pricing for my website www.streetslocal.com
Some of you thought our pricing was slightly high.

Well we have made a few changes to our pricing structure and have included a few added extra's.

For example our top package now includes a FREE 5 PAGE WEBSITE AND FREE DOMAIN NAME.

Please let me know your thoughts.

I would still say your prices are a little high for the profile of your website. I personally wouldn't spend £79.00 per year getting myself a link on a site that does not have a large amount of traffic.

Perhaps you could consider adding an extra option for say £15 a year, maybe the Basic listing but you can have a link. Even better maybe have a reciprocal link scheme where if they put a link on their homepage to you, they will get it for free? The £79.00 listing would still get them above the rest, but the reciprocal link, or £15 would get them a link.

Also, I know this might sound silly but have you considered reversing the order of the price listings on your site so that the lower prices ones are at the top. This would stop the user being hit with £249 and not scrolling down. Obviously I know you would prefer people to go with that option, but I think it may put people off if that is the first thing they see.

I think someones line of thought is more likely to be, if they see £15 first, they thing I could spend that and read further. They would then scroll down and see that spending an extra bit of money could get them a lot more.

Since November we have had 630 listings added

12 showcase listings added. 2999.88

6 premuim listings added 1199.94

3 basic listings added so in total 239.97

4439.79 worth of paid listings in 2 and a half months.

Also a telemarketing campaign will be started this week.

This is approx 63.00 a day in revenue.
Which yes at the moment i am happy with this.

But when the telemarketing campaign goes live i am looking to drive this upto at least 400 a day which is still a small number in comparrison.

I have a target to reach and once this is reached i want to roll out nationally but want to build up slowly rather than rush in and get a bad rep..

This is an intresting view and one which me and my designers did mull over.

The other view point is that some people do this in reverse and scroll down the page browsing and look at the bottom first and would be put off seeing this price down the bottom.
This was something i did review and sales of the showcase package out perform the basic listings by far at the moment.

Also the case about Reciprocal links this is something we do not offer as Reciprocal links can also harm your website in a negative way if you have bad sites linking to you.

Matt Cutts of Google wrote on his blog about the danger of Reciprocal links.

However our free listings ask you link to us but we do not link back.
