I have been using Wise to send international payments and the fees are very reasonable. Wise was listed in the stock market for IPO today. I am considering buying some of their shares. Would you buy the shares of Wise at £8.68? They also have World Remit as its competitor.

Thank you very much.

I use TransferWise and have offered me Ann opportunity to buy them as a customer. I registered with them but not heard anything yet. Did not realize they were launching so soon.

I think I will buy them as they are a good company.

Shares were indicated to open at 750 pence at pre-auction (yesterday) which would have given them a market capitalisation of well over 7 billion. On Wednesday the mid-price was 750 (7.45am) but spread between 500 to 1000 pence. They actually traded from 10.00 GMT yesterday opened at around 806 pence. On my screen now closed at 867 slightly down.

The reason I wouldn't buy a share of Wise is because I know nothing about them. Also I've decided not to include tech in my portfolio - because I know little about it.

Whether you should buy some would depend on several factors, including what your strategy is in respect of risk, length of holding etc.

Also, how much you understand from a financial perspective 'I like dealing with them' is never a good reason to invest. (been there, got the T-shirt)

Tech shares defiantly a nightmare along with all these new IPO's

Yes I have just been online and they 902p. Rather annoyed that Wise did not inform me of launch time when they ask me to register as I would have bought them on the day at 750.

    Think I will leave it.

Although I do tech I tend not to invest in it. A lot of it, but not necessarily all, is over valued.

Becase tech is over-valued, lots of businesses claim to be tech companies in order to boost their value. Property companies, mini-cab companies, all sorts. In extreme cases the claim to be a tach company can be as little as "we get most of our sales through our web site". Then you use that to claim a high valuation all the way from angel investors to IPO and beyond.

There will again be a lot of value destruction in the financial markets as the tide goes out and many "tech" companies are found not to be making much money. Even companies like Deliveroo will face challenges being valued for their earnings against companies such as Wynnstay (which being in agriculture is perhaps the opposite end of the spectrum of new and old businesses).

This process has perhaps started in the ****** sphere as the regulators start pushing such activity away from the mainstream.
