Hi All,

I have been a user of the pay as you go World Pay card service.

Today I have received an email informing me they are closing the service and providing there 2 months notice.

In turn if you would like to transfer over to the new service called WorldPay ZINC apply online. However you will need to pay AGAIN for a new chip and pin pad.

Keeping in mind I had already paid £60 for my chip and pin pad I thought it was a bit cheeky that if they expected me to move to the new service and pay for a second pad.

So I got on the phone with customer services of world pay zinc and they have provided the new chip and pin pad free of charge.

I did explain that Iam a man of principle and if I was going to have to pay for a second pad it would be with a new provider (izettle).

So I do find it cheeky they are not providing the pad free of charge but if you push a little they will give it to you.

I just wanted to pass this information on.

Hi Mathew

Interesting Post however before you rush out and purchase the iZettle solution do some research, the product was until recently not approved for use by Visa (bit of a problem for a card payment reader..) whereas the WPZ product is getting great reviews all round for quality and customer service.

Also there are quite a few people offering discount vouchers if you sign up for WPZ, I believe a number of other members could help you here..

Just a note of caution.

Rgds

Hi Mark,

I think you misunderstood me.

I have been a customer or World Pay Mobile which was the test programme for world pay Zinc.

They are now closing the test programme and expected me to pay for a new chip and pin pad for world pay Zinc. I dont think so!!!!!!

Hi Mathew

Apologies, not with standing that I still think the WPZ product is far better than either iZettle or the PayPal offering, I would have thought a conversation with WPZ CS team should get you the upgrade you want FoC, and if not publish your experience accordingly no company likes bad press especially when they are getting plaudits for their product and service !

I do however agree as a pilot customer you should have been offered a better migration path..
