worldpay are holding onto £30,700.00 Which was taken in one transaction on the 8th of May 2018 as a deposit to pay for my work and flowers. On the same day I also took £9300 on American Express towards the deposit for the same client. The funds of £9300 did going to my bank account but the £30,700 did not. The ombudsman researcher is telling me that I should have carried out this request from the monitoring team. I have requested a transcript of the conversation, because the agent would not send an email to me informing me of what to do. My account was on divert and suspended and I said this in the conversation. The transcript that has arrived is missing many statements that were made. Is it possible that the transcript has been edited? My account has been put on divert and suspended and will be terminated in the beginning of June 2018. I have been advised by the monitoring team, to appy twice to open a new accountant but have been rejected both occasions with the boarding team. The monitoring team have been a nightmare and contradicted themselves by saying that they going to pay me, not pay me, and then refund the client. They verbally told me they were going to refund the client on or before the 5th of April 2018 and they did not honour this. I then received a very strange telephone call from the monitoring team two weeks ago asking me to refund the client £30,700, and then the monitoring team would pay the same amount of funds into my bank account the following day. The agent was not willing to send an email with this request. I telephoned my bank, police fraud line and my accountant and they told me not to do it. Can you please tell me if this is a correct procedure or whether it is gross financial misconduct? How can I refund my client £30,700 if I haven’t been paid the money in the first place. I have been offered now a letter of resolution from the complaints team and the case is with the ombudsman. I have told my client to request a chargeback because it’s obvious that Worldpay are not wanting to pay my business the money and certainly not refund my clients either. My business and health have suffered greatly. The ombudsman has even suggested that I may not get the funds back at all and neither will my clients. I have known my clients for over 15 years and they have asked me to decorate some of the chandeliers in their hotel in Vietnam. This is what the payment is for. In the past I have been making dresses jewellery tiaras and so on using flowers and to decorate the chandelier doesn’t seem any different to me. The MCC coding listed for the business was erroneously a shop selling ladieswear which is not true. This erroneous description of what I do was filed by a Worldpay agent many years ago when it was Streamline. I am being told that I have to pay the fees for the transaction even though Worldpay are withholding the funds. The fees are £1000. If I do not pay this fee I will be given a detrimental credit rating and the ombudsman has confirmed that with me today. It seems that the ombudsman researcher is being quite aggressive in his line of questioning me as if I am the criminal. I have told my client to request a chargeback because otherwise it is going to take a very long time to get her money back. We have already been informed that it’s going to be 60 days just to get an enquiry underway and not even a chargeback at this point. We are in week seven of the dispute and I have been told that I must go to my MP. Please can you help me as I have no merchant terminal and cannot carry out any transactions using this method. If I have also gone on some list that states that my merchant agreement has been terminated I will find it impossible to set up a new agreement with somebody else. I have been in business for over 33 years and just closedbmy shop in January with the knowledge that I wish to do fairs,!other commissions and my online shop. This has really impacted on my business and my health.
