This is a bit cheeky as I don't contribute much to the forum.

I want to add a product to an existing category on to our website (wordpress/Woocommerce) but I just can't understand how to do it.

Would somebody be kind enough to knock up a simple product with the options of :

Length - 6 options
Width - 4 options
Colour - 6 options
Material - 2 options

and then send me screen shots of the settings?

I would be very very grateful and I might add you to my xmas card list.

Many thanks in advance

You need to set up a variable product:

It's not a quick thing to do as you need to set up the global attributes first

Just follow the tutorial and you should be ok. It’s not difficult just time consuming.

Wish I could but not in the vape business, tried following the link above its not making sense, but like lots of things, it’s easy once you know how to do it.
The first thing you need to do is set up the attributes. The best way is to use global variables. Go to Products > Attributes

Here you create your Length, Width, Colour and Material attributes.

Now go back to your product and change the product type to variable

This now lets you add the 4 attributes. For each attribute you add the variations.

But I agree it can be fiddly first time round but just do one attribute to begin with. Once you have that working the next three will be a doddle. If you need help send me a message.

Thanks, That could be where I’m going wrong. The instructions in the link say to select variable product before setting global attributes, as I read it.

You can change to a variable product before doing anything else. But nothing will happen until you set up the attributes and then the variations for that product.
