Hi i have built a website using moonfruit and now noticed because its flash based content it wont get very high in the rankings when i come to optimize it. I have been looking at wordpress because of this reason and just want to know will i have the same or even more flexibility with the design and optimizing the content compared to moonfruit. Also will i get any extra benefits using wordpress instead of moonfruit?

Hope this is in the right thread !

Best Regards,
James

That is what i have just realized im not looking to setup business at the moment just playing around with different providers. My site will be reliant on SEO campaigns etc to crack the industry i would like to enter.

Thanks for the advice i think word press will be best even if i have to spend a little more money, because there is no point having a website if a customer cant find it! Otherwise i will have to advertise heavily using PPC in a very competitive market. I want the site to be really SEO friendly so i can get the search results i want.

Best Regards,
James

You could probably get away with using Moonfruit for a hobby-type website, but WordPress wins hands down for any other use (blog, professional, business etc.).

The wide range of plugins are also a major reason to use WordPress, although do make sure it is self-hosted on your own domain rather than ending in '.wordpress.com' which looks un-professional imo.

As you mention, WordPress is also very search engine friendly and the SEO Yoast plugin can help a lot with SEO too.
