I hope someone can help me recently my hosting company (fasthost) decided to close there blog site so my blog was migrated to wordpress ever since I am getting lots of errors for my old blog site at the same time penguin was happening and my site has dropped. Not sure if it was penguin or this blog issue or both.

Also when I run a site map check for my site it would seem every time I have edited wordpress it has kept the previous copy and it now looks like lots of duplicate copy what is the best thing to do. my word press blog is <removed site reviews not allowed>

Should I delete this blog or get it moved. Also I have found the blog now is getting better ranking with google than my website. I am really lost as to what to do and my hosting company are ****

I will try to work through this. you say fasthosts closed their blog service. was the URL the same or has it changed?

You then moved the site to wordpress (good move).

You say 'when I run a sitemap check it shows duplicate copies' - what sitemap and how?

When you edit a page or post, indeed WP keeps a copy of the old version, but that is not published, it sits in the datbase inaccessible from the front end user, only the latest version is available (unless you have misconfigured).

Finally the blog is getting better rankings than your site, that is nothing new, if your blog is in a subfolder of your site, then that means the traffic is getting to your site, just channel it back to the main pages wherever you want it. Oh and ideally don't make posts that challenge for your main phrases that you are targeting on your main site.

I think you have a couple of issues to deal with, not least the fact your main site has been hit.

with ref to the old blog it was on a different url but fasthost put a redirect on home page and it now points to the new blog but only the home page not all the posts.

The site map I check by putting in site:domain.com it brings up lots of pages including the blog now. Also I ran a site map from the website xml sitemaps I use this for my xml page but looked at the html and I had gone from a couple of hundred pages to over 500 since the wordpress was added it could be misfigured but I did not do it fasthost did it for me!!
