Word Press based website

I am looking to have a website developed and was looking at word press to see if it could help me get an easy to update solution that looks good as well.

Any of you used word press to manage your website? compared to other solutions did it cost you more to get it?
I understand word press is free but if I go down the route of getting a design for our website and the incorporation of this management system then I will have to pay for the package (no problem with that).

How much shall i be thinking about for a website of 7 pages or so to replace our current site?

Or you can build your own Wordpress site as if you know anything at all about website building you will find Wordpress relatively easy to build. There are 1000's of free templates out there and LOADS of instructions and to help you.

Wordpress was a system I used when I knew NOTHIng about website building and publishing and the results were pretty good.

There are many free wordpress templates available with a quick google search that could be enough for your needs. Alternatively there are some premium ones, but it depends on what you want to achieve with your website.

My suggestion is that if you haven't used Wordpress before, sign up for a free account, browse the system and see what you think, although a free account is still limited in functionality, it should be enough for a taster.

It's a powerful and popular CMS, we use it for our own website and for sites we build for our clients.
If your after something specific - more than what a free or premium theme can offer, I'll be happy to discuss some solutions with you

You could use Wordpress or Joomla or Drupal or Concrete5 etc etc. Get a site professionally setup and put all your energies into content. Any of the systems above will allow you to add new pages etc.

I love Wordpress. It's free; it's easy; it's Google friendly and it really works. I have 3 Wordpress sites; 2 representing companies with substantial turnovers.

Excellent.. I belive Joomla is good too- spelling may be duff!

Wordpress is super. I didn't want a WP site, and in all honesty mine is very, very loosely WP, but it's super, easy to work, google friendly, and unless you're in the know you can't tell it's Wordpress!
