Hello all

I have a couple of questions about Woocommerce if someone can help please.

My online shop is never likely to have more than 40 products and so am happy to stay with Woocommerce on Wordpress. I was looking at OpenCart but I worry about the change over of sites, servers, inventory etc. And is OpenCart overkill for a limited range of products? However, with Woocommerce I have just a couple of niggles.

1. I want to change my website to more of an ecommerce shopping look. I am looking at templates in Theme forest but wondered if anyone had a better place to look?

2. I want to have discount codes that can be printed of flyers or on Twitter ads. I can't find a solution for this. Can anyone help please?

3. I would like to use affiliates who would give a discount code that would be tracked to them and earnings calculated. Can I even do this in Woo? If I can how does it work?

Thanks

Search for woothemes, they are specific themes for ecommerce.

Woocommerce offers the ability to generate discount codes, not sure if this answers the question.

I'm not sure woocommerce has an affiliates feature, you should look for third party affiliate companies that can do the setup and tracking for you. Let them worry about it and figure out how to integrate into your website.

Unless you want to engage a custom build, then Themeforest is a a good place as any. Select a responsive WordPress e-commerce theme that says 'woocommerce' and you should be fine.

You can get themes from WooThemes, but they are not a massive selection of designs, EXCEPT Canvas which, if you are skilled with CSS and a bit of WordPress coding you can make to do what ever you want (it is in effect a blank canvas ). One thing to watch, with WooThemes you have to pay every year to get support / updates.

Regarding Coupons, WooCommerce supports Coupons as standard, just create Coupon codes in the back end and put them on your printed matter.

Regarding using discount codes for affiliates, simply create a coupon code per affiliate, and use the built in reports to track usage. OK its a bit manual, but I'm guessing that a semimanual process will be fine.

    Thanks llocally.

the theme I am looking at fills all the needs of Woocommerce and is highly rated so I agree it should be OK.

The Woocommerce themes, as you say are a little stale. I want more.

I haven't had to pay for Woocommerce as using it as a plugin to my Wordpress. I will look into that.

I wasn't aware I could create coupon codes in the back end of Woo. I have seen nothing like this when looking around. Can you give me some more direction on it please?

    Thanks
