With the London Mayor imposing this £12.5 per day charge, I wonder if my village that has a lot of traffic going through it to the next village plus holiday people, could implement the same charge, do I approach the parish council or the county council to get it applied ?

You could try Grant Shapps who, apparently, demanded the extension of the ULEZ in return for additional TfL funding.

the only big issue i have with the ULEZ is the stupidity of some fringe cases - my daughter is at Brunel uni - the back fence is the cowley road between west drayton & uxbridge which is the expanded boundary - luckily i got a Scala off my mum as our old Octavia is non compliant so to take her stuff back for next term would have cost £12.50, instead it will be 2 journeys in the Scala as the fuel is less than the Ulez charge.

https://goo.gl/maps/7dZKrhSMq8i1cuHA9 if you look on that the 3/4 story building just above left of the Bus is a hall of residence and it's entrance is just past that tall tree - turning right at this junction to get to that will cost £12.50

Now let's see if Brunel make a new gateway onto the cowley rd - maybe where the "m" of isambard complex is on this map https://goo.gl/maps/Vug3YE9AAmDf1eSG9

Also the fact motorcycles had no Euro rating until 2007 so according to TFL who can't bebothered to think, any pre 2007 bike is the same as a v8 landrover - so all those old guys on Honda C90's which do 200mpg are expected to pay £12.50 per day

What is it with the current ulez
That is the current costs but it wont change much as we have a split of euro 5 and 6 vans and a lot of jobs already run in the existing zone and con charge zone

    And the small boats ?
Not that many going to Devon&Cornwall by small boat for holiday and those that are can sleep on their boats (saying that last year mother-in-law was visited by the grand daughter of her old pen pal from school who has sailed over from southern France with her family in an ex fastnet yacht and was moored up in Plymouth)

It only works if you can find a private company to take all the profit from the £12.50 charge unfortunately. Councils aren't bothered, unless they can feather their own nests under the guise of 'saving the planet'.

Maybe create your own company, 'Charge A Lot For Nowt Ltd'....see if that entices them to stick a few cameras up.
