    Hi guys,

currently looking and purchasing a CCTV system for my home. We have recently got a puppy so it will be used to monitor when out in the garden if we aren't as well as me running a small business from home and people occasionally visiting (2 in 1 really as it will save me buying a ring door bell or similar).

I have seen the Eufy wireless system which is a sister company to Anker (love there products) gets great reviews. Potential of 365 day battery life (providing motion detention isn't too sensitive).

Does anyone have any recommendations or feedback on the Eufy system?

    Thanks :)

A friend of mine has the Eufy system and says it's great... however he's limited with options due to thick stone walls and a large property he wanted to have camera's around. So whenever he says it's good he always caveats it with "but if I could, I'd still go wired".

Also love the Anker products and didn't know Eufy was a sister company but that explains a lot to be honest. If you do pull the trigger on them, make sure you head back to this post and report your findings.

My wife is a CCTV tech support engineer for a large distributor. For what you are using it for (live monitoring) i guess any of them will be fine (there is a Swann system sold via costco as well)

If you want recording etc you may want to step up a price range though, and as others have said it depends on your wifi signal at home as well. I recently got one from returned stock via wife, a 6TB HDD recorder/controller managing up to 16 cameras for £35 ? the cameras (wired) were an additional £8.50 each for the 4 we got and the system has remote access via IP

Very true, just live monitoring really. I do have a Wifi mesh system installed as well so i'm getting a consistant 70mbps throughout the property. Not sure if it's worth getting one with a solar panel as well?

With these systems can you get them with motion sensors? Ideally I’d want notification that something is happening outside so I can check the cameras or recording starts or whatever.

I've got an Arlo system, doorbell and 4 high def cams, all very good quality and it works really well. Not the cheapest of its type, not by a long stretch.

The only real b*tch is a £12.00 a month subscription, to basically store the footage online, they can't be stored locally I've tried. As I work from home, this is of course a business expense!

It is software driven usually, the software monitors the image and spots movement that isnt a leaf/bush/bird
I would welcome a bush or a bird on my cctv :)
