Windows Installer package problems after Windows 10 upgrade

Hi guys - after successfully upgrading my Acer Aspire laptop from Win 8.1 to Win 10 I thought I would do my office ASUS CM6370 series desktop. Everything seemed to go well and I only seem to be left with one problem.

For some reason I cannot open Knowhow Cloud and when I try to reinstall/uninstall it it tells me that there is a problem with the Windows Installer package and that the program did not run correctly.

After speaking to the Windows 10 Techbench they advised me to install Windows 10 again - did that, no change. Then they got me to run sfc/scannow - no integrity violations found. I have also run the troubleshooter for Windows Updates and Windows Apps - no issues. When running the troubleshooter for Programme Compatibility it suggests running Knowhow Cloud as Windows 8 - but it still won't open!

Any suggestions greatly welcome.

Hi

Can you get to any other site on the internet? If so:

What are you using Firefox, chrome or edge?

Which one works?

Have you tried using the 2 browsers you don't use?

Does that resolve problem?

I cant post websites or I would point you to a few dependent on your problem

Although I will say that if edge works and chrome and firefox don't, the answer may lie in resetting your tcpip stack.

Hi Riiser - I generally use Chrome, but have checked IE and Edge this morning - all fine.

I have been able to install/unisntall other software - it is just this issue with Knowhow Cloud - which I use for back-ups.

The message is "There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor"
