It now makes win8 a desirable OS rather than something I've avoided, mainly because of the desktop only option they have now. I couldn't stand the way they enforced the tile system onto desktop users in the hope they'd then buy the surface and a windows phone. There's a damn reason desktop screens have been so popular for 25 years (even before windows). Microsoft seem to make the most baffling of choices sometimes.
Except that there are problems with some people using the 8.1 update - there's even been a mention on here... http://www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=311577
Personally I'm still going to advise customers to stick with Win7 if possible or wait a while until Microsoft get it sorted.
You'd think with the backlash they have had over Win 8, they'd get this one right.![]()
