Wildcard SSL

S

Super Simon

Morning everybody.

I'm looking at obtaining a wildcard SSL for one of my domains/servers and I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation for something that is affordable?

Cheers,

SS

The RapidSSL is domain validated so you just need to have email set-up on the domain to receive an approval link. Issued in around 10 minutes.

The downside is that some browsers like Firefox have started showing "Identity not verified" when you click on the browser padlock. This is accurate because the Certificate Authority have not validated your identity. However if all you need is SSL protection then this is of no concern.

The True BusinessID is issued by Geotrust and includes organisation validation. This means it can take up to 10 working days to be issued as they have to validate your organisation info. But this information also shows up when a user clicks on the padlock in the browser (no Green address bar though)

The SSL Web Server is issued by Thawte and is the same as True BusinessId Wildcard just an alternative brand).

In summary if all you need is SSL protection then go for the RapidSSL. If you are concerned about visitors checking your out go for the True BusinessID. If your visitors like well known brands then go for Thawte.

Yes because I run a number of subdomains from a main domain for customer access etc so it'll be cheaper and appropriate to use a wildcard.

If you want to buy Wildcard SSL at discounted price, then you should once go with ssl2buy.com/wildcard-ssl-certificate where you can find discounted prices on diverse branded wildcard ssl certificate.

Because at present you can get AlphaSSL Wildcard Certificate at just $49 per year and $210 for 5 years. Visit this link ssl2buy.com/alphassl-wildcard.php for getting big discounted prices on Alphassl Wildcard.
