If product is king how come mcdonalds do so well ? It obviously aint the product but more great marketing.

Ppc allows you to find what the best converting keywords are rather than guessing. If an seo is so important from day one then how do they know what the best converting keywords are without testing first using ppc ?
Its all very well seo'ing a site for certain terms but pointless if they are non converting terms regardless of if the serps mean you are number 1.

So hands up how many seo here have actually seen the google algorythim ?

Seo is it seems down to educated guess work and next week what you know now could be old hat if google changes things.

I prefer to find out what works for myself through testing as its the only way to prove what works rather than listen religiously to others.
Sure take others ideas onboard but test for yourself and get your own results and learn along the way with what you discover.

Ive had ppc with 30-45% ctr but i discovered it got less conversions than the ppc with 10-15% conversions, work that one out as everyone would tell you a higher ctr =better. It may be better as its less per click but no good if it doesnt make you money which at the end of the day what its all about.

If SEO was all down to guess work.

We would all be nervous wrecks.:D

Its all done with mirrors and a hell of a lot of research.

whether you take a shine to me or not is about zero on my scale of priorities.

Actually the product is great, full of habit-forming fats, salt and sugar.. its one step down from selling cigarettes in a queue, easy to gain a captive audience :p

I don't know about super size me. But I lost weight when i only ate mc donalds.

The day I figure out how to make the fillet o fish tarter sauce they will lose my £5 a day:D
