I was thinking today that with all the advice I get here it would probably be worth spending a few bob to join

So, With a little time I found the link, saw the membership price of £40+vat and used the link to see what the benefits of membership are.

In comes Darren Falkingham (who is a free member) to explain the benefits to me. To be honest, Its been a long day but the benefits dont seem that great. what do you guys get back for your £40+vat... Am I being dim and missing something :)

Thanks

I'm not here to gain any business but if I can help genuine newcomers start out then it's worth every penny. I wish there had been people and sites like this to help me when I started. I had to crawl up from the gutter.

I used to be a paid member but as I have no need of more work I decided to give me 40 quid to a charity that provides a hot meal every day for a child for 6 months.

Hah have you seen the accounts that prove they do this?

£35 in admin fees probably- - but heck let's not derail the thread for a change Earl eh?

Break the habit of a lifetime why don't you, you old goat.

I am a paid member and have been getting a steady stream of interest.
But don't expect everyone to suddenly turn into your client just because you posted a few jokes ...

You get what you put in. Simples :)

I think it's mainly about getting your link in the signature. Of course you can get a website review too, which may help.

I would pay for the membership if I were offering a service frequently sought on the forum: web desing, virtual office, accountancy, answering services, payroll services etc.

I would also pay if the membership was cheaper, probaly around £20 a year or less.

I disagree, from our standpoint we are due to upgrade shortly and it is not for the link, won't be adding one.

Our reason is to help support a site that is (on the whole) providing excellent info on a whole host of SMB related issues AND it has helped us along the way massively.

£40.00 per year equates to 10p a day (ish). I waste more than that on poxy newspapers that do not keep me as well informed
