Why are some threads pulled and others not

I have been coming here for the past 6 months, during this time I have noticed a few things.

1. Some of my threads have been pulled, even though (in my opinion) they have not desrved to be.

2. Some people seem to get away with blantant advertising others don't.

Today I had a thread pulled, the thread was ref a FREE service our site offers to the small business community. This service is totally FREE with no conditions at all.

For and administrator to pull a thread that is offering a FREE service to all UKBF members is annoying. Other business forums are more than happy for FREE services to be offered to their members, obviously UKBF is not.

    Hi Pete,
I've just read your post that you refer to above. Despite it being an offer of a free listing on a website with a link to your website, if you saw that same post made be a new person who had just joined these forums I am 110% confident you would view it as spam.
Regarding your second comment, if you see a post which you feel is spam why don't you report it for it to be dealt with? The link to do so is at the top of every post (the red triangle).

Thanks Ozzy for taking the time to reply.

Our site mainly offers paid services, debt collection, coporate finance, large business sale etc. I also wanted to offer a free service so we decided to incorporate the free small businesses/franchises and property development advertising section. Not many business sites offer a total free service with no obligations.

I believe this service would be of use to members here, even if it is only for free advertising, was a bit gutted it got pulled as spam.

Saying that I am not one to harp on about things.

    Pete
