Hi everyone,

I am starting my own business in the UK selling children's clothing. My supplier is a relative who runs a large factory in China producing Children's clothing and accessories. I am confident about the price and I have stocks in the UK ready to dispatch. I prefer wholesale over retail but I am struggling to find a buyer. Can anyone advise on how to find a wholesale buyer?

Many thanks in advance!

You say you prefer wholesale but who do you think are going to be your potential clients ie retail outlets, market traders what research have you done so far to determine where your potential market lies.
Hi, thanks for your reply.

This batch was intended for e-commerce, like TikTok UK shop and Amazon. Unfortunately, something happened to my partner who was supposed to handle the marketing/sales, which left me in an awkward situation.

Ideally, it would be great to have a buyer who can take over the whole batch. Realistically, I am open to all types of buyers without MOQ. Of course, wholesale discounts apply and free samples are available.

Hi, thx for ur reply. What I mean is wholesale costs less in marketing and labour compared to retail. Of course, I am willing to accept a lower profit margin.
I know exactly what you mean, but you have (from what I can see) put ZERO effort into selling the products.

You have done (again from what I can see) the backwards way most people do to get into business.

Buy the product, worry about how to sell it later.

To sell B2B on wholesale you need to market your product. You need to build catalogues, you need to send samples to B2B buyers. There's a million things you can do.

The fact you came onto a forum asking "how to find a buyer" shows you are massively under skilled in sales.

I couldn't agree more with you and I am sorry if my question sounds silly. As explained above, I was the sourcing guy with supplier connections and the sales guy quit due to family issues. Hence, I posted here trying to learn something and hopefully find a buyer.

I have some friends doing TikTok shop with MCN but they charge a 20% commission and I have to pack and dispatch myself. Additionally, I have registered on Alibaba but it takes time to verify and get the products listed. It has been posted on the Facebook marketplace and Gumtree for a while but no response so far. At the moment, I am sending emails to large sellers on Amazon and eBay and hopefully, they are interested. A friend also suggests Depop but I have never heard of it. Please advise if there are other marketing places/channels.

Thank you.
