I'm so indecisive - I have no faith in any politician, yet I do feel obliged to vote considering the lengths women went to many years ago to be allowed to vote.
That said, I don't believe my vote counts, so I may as well vote Green, which is closest to my beliefs, even if I know lots of folk will count it a 'wasted' vote.

Last local election, I think I only had the main 3 choices. In that case, I'd vote Lib Dem, or cross them all through, depending on how I felt at the time. I don't consider spoiling a paper is a waste - if I really don't like any of them, then that is a true reflection of my belief. To date I've never spolit a paper, but have forgotten to vote once.

Doesn't make a difference - this area is always Blue.

Jenni, you are right, if only for the fact that anyone who moans about politicians and who does not exercise their democratic prerogative is a hypocrite.

Having said that, looking around the current scene, I have to say I feel disenfranchised. Shower of career based greasy pole climbers without a shred of talent between them. I haven't even got Screaming Lord Such available for a protest vote. I never thought I'd see that as a sad loss, but I really do now.

I've just watched this weeks question time, I am none the wiser of who I want to vote for. I'm sick of all these stealth taxes, I'm sick of Gordon Brown, I'm sick of the spin and upcoming 4th relaunch of Gordon Brown. AAAaargh!

Methinks I may be a torie voter! :)

BY NOT VOTING, YOU ARE NOT SAYING YOU ARE HAPPY WITH THE CURRENT SITUATION AND YOU ARE NOT SAYING YOU ARE UNHAPPY - YOU ARE LEAVING ZERO INFLUENCE ON YOUR LOCAL AREA.

    :eek::mad::(
Are you honestly saying that there is a real difference between any of the main political parties. I don't include the BNP in that list.

Parties come and go as their popularity changes. All we can be sure about is that the last lot were a damned sight worse than the party we have just voted in, but in another 4 years they will be rejected and we will go back to the rehabilitated old lot again. It's just a farce, and the sooner voters realise that the sooner we will start acting more rationally.

What should we do then? How about we start a UK Business Party, 'business' being the ethics behind the game, we'd know how to get this little old island back to glory.

Steve, lots of the older people here just vote for the lib dems. This will be the first time my generation can vote on such things and I know for a fact none of them will be voting lib dem. Whilst in college, Tony Blair was in power and everybody was singing his praises, catching up with friends has been interesting as they have completely switched sides.

Unfortuneatley we have been shunted into the outside world from our comfy little education hideaway and things that didn't actually matter to us, now do.

I think bio-fuels should only be encouraged if they come from sustainable sources so that it doesn't effect our rising food prices.

I think that labours 'education, education, education' aim is complete tosh due to there being a percentage increase in the use of private schools.

I hate these stealth taxes, I strongly disagree penalising people. It's not a democracy anymore, there seems to be an ever closing distance between democracy and dictatorship. There's only so much we as UK Citizens can do.

Can't we have a civil war? Can't we do anything to get all these numpty's out of pwoer and get someone in that CAN do the job and can sort out the root cause of the problems and not masking them by throwing money at them.

what the feck did GB think he was doing when they bought out Northern Rock. I would have let Branson have it all day long. Waste of OUR money!

You might just want to reserve judgment on that until this lot have finished doing their worst?

There is now less difference between Labour and Conservative than at any time I can remember in the past 50 years. So don't hold out any hope that Cameron will be the saviour of this country.

And yes asonda, a business party would probably make more sense than the choice we currently have. Whoever runs this country has to have a genuine commitment to serve the community. Business people know more about running organisations than a lot of career politicians.

I never said Cameron, or anyone for that matter, would be the saviour of this country. I merely picked up on your comment that the last lot were a damned sight worse. I understand that you now consider them pretty much the same and hence no better or worse than each other.

I think many people, myself included, would probably agree with that and it all comes down to the particular brand of nastiness you prefer.
