Hi there everyone,
I have started my own mini business and it is called Mirror Imagery.
Now i am only 15 so bear in mind it is not the best business in the world but i am giving it a go.
Right well what i am doing is take. It can be anything you want, from yourself, to your pet or even a drunk llamaeating a mans hair off his head. When i have recieved this image then i will draw it for you, whateva size and with colour if wanted. The mediums i am working in at the moment are only pencil tone and coloured crayons since i do not yet have enough money to buy paints or pastilles.
Yes you will be charged for this service. However since i am not a professional artist then it will be a fraction of the cost you would pay to have it done professionally.
I bet you're thinking well hes only 15 so it wont be good. Well as i say it may not be professional standard but i have been told by many members of my family and many of friends that i am a good artist. Incase my words dont reassure you then i have posted some examples of my work on my blog. Unfortunately i cannot post the URL however a little searching and you'll find it. You will find it hopefully by typing in "mirrorimagery blog"
Thankyou and i hope to see an order from you soon

I am with Moose a website would help you greatly and you can get them quite cheap these days as a starting point try 123-reg they have a domain name service that will cost you about a fiver.

You can then build an instant site from it and that would be a sound investment till you have made some money and then I would invest in something a little more professional.

Hope this helps

Regards

Good for you Whitney.

Stick with it and using your natural skills you could carve out an interesting and rewarding career.

Totally agree with all the comments about the website.

Just remember that what you are trying to achieve will not be an overnight success but persevere and you will get there.

Good luck with the GCSE's as well.

I've just had a look at your Blog, your atwork is very good!

Perhaps have a go at drawing full pics of friends and family so people can get an idea of the service you're providing. A lot of the drawings show your skills but seem a bit like doodles or unfinished projects.

A portfolio of loads of work would be a good idea.

Good luck!!

I like the tigers! keep at it as you have some serious talent!

If I was you I would knock up a few portraits of people to showcase your talents at that. To give you a rough idea of prices, I paid £40 for a very shoddy, pastel portrait of me and the missus that took about 15 minutes (it was on large paper though). I thought that was expensive for what he did but if I could have an A4 drawing of a favourite picture then I would be more than happy to pay that for it if it was of a good enough standard.

Not sure if that helps but just personal experience that may help :) good luck with it though!

Hey thanks Jenni,

I like the animals you have drawn and that's how I started out... I think if you can, invest in a Wacom tablet, it allows you to draw directly onto the computer and make your images look more professional. (depending on which side of art you want to go into) I have branched out into 3d animation take my advice... Dont do it! Stick to illustration as there are many jobs out there. Good luck in your art exam! And always do what YOU want to do, break the mold!

Regards - Katie
