I would suggest looking at something like Magento or OpenCart if you prefer a free cart. Or, for paid for try ekmPowershop, OpenMindCommerce or eShop-Systems. There are plenty more out there and it is a case of researching the best one for your specific needs. Most carts will have a forum based community so it is worth having a look and seeing which offers the best overall package in terms of features/add-ons/support.

We have a list of shopping carts on our website you can use to get a brief description and then click through to find out more. Feel free to take a look here.

Have to agree with totalwebsolutions, my money would be on OpenCart, it's really coming along nicely and has plenty of extensions available both free and paid. It is fairly lightweight in terms of coding and is used on a variety of one click installs with various hosting providers. Plus it is a relative breeze to get going and free.

Magento for me has fantastic features etc, however hosting for it (as it is a very complex system) can be a little daunting. There are some hosting providers who offer hosting purely for Magento, but putting it on a shared host is a definite no no.

Magento would be the best option. It offers complete flexibility and control over the users experience, content, and functionality of their online store. Its intuitive administration interface features powerful marketing tools, a catalog-management engine and is SEO optimized to give merchants the power to create sites that provide an unrivaled and rich online shopping experience for their customers, tailored to their unique business needs.

Cheers!
