Which Printer and type of Ink and Paper for DIY greeting Cards?

Hi
I am thinking to print my own designed Greeting Cards and Post Cards [possibly] I am after some advice from those that are actually doing it right now.

1. which printer ?
2. which ink type - I am guessing pigment for long duration
3. which type and card weight?
4. which card size is most common sold?

Cards are designed, either artistically or edited using taken images cut/paste/modify etc.
Sorry, I am not just enough informed to make my own decision.

Why invest in a printer? Why don't you just outsource and spend the time doing what you do best, created greetings cards and post card design?

Make darn sure your designs are using image rights you own / not copying someone else's card.
And get a printing place to print it for you.

Then sell cheap to distributors or go round a bunch of shops selling your cards in packs.
