Which payment gateway?

Hi
I'm about to upgrade to a new ecommerce platform. I have only offered Paypal in past so I'm a bit clueless as to the best payment platform to use.

I would like to use a well known gateway for trust issues (from customer point of view). From my own shopping experiences, this would be Sagepay, Worldpay or Barclays? I would be grateful for any comments re the best gateway to use for ease of use by customers / customer's trust issues / oh, and the cost to me! What are your experiences? As well as PaymentBrain there is another comparison site - Electronic-payments.co.uk - just if you want another option (they have recently relaunched their site so the information is all up to date).

If you take recurring payments, I've heard good things about GoCardless (https://gocardless.com/). Everything is done by Direct Debit.
