Hi All,
For those of you out there that use payment gateways why do you use – why did you pick your current provider?
Do you have the payment gateway and merchant account with the same provider? If so what made you go down that road?
Look forward to your stories.

Is there any independent comparison site for payment service providers? they all have their pros and cons and most people find these out by reading the fine print or getting burnt, if anyone knows of a non biased review and comparison then post a link, would be great :) Sage pay seems to be the most recomended one i've seen but there's many others.

'Electronic Payments' offers an independent and unbiased comparison of gateways. Our own payment gateway EcomMerchant (from Total Web Solutions) is featured on there as are plenty of others.

If you would like to discuss setting up an Internet Merchant Account and low cost PCI level 1 accredited payment gateway, please don't hesitate to contact me by sending me a private message.

Thanks

Simon

I think you'll find it's like most service arenas in life. People who have bad experiences will never touch them again and warn you away whilst there are those who have used the same provider without a problem for x years.

Personally, I'll never use o2 for comms as I had a VERY bad experience with them, I'll stick with Orange. Having said that, the guy sat opposite me is the other way round, he uses o2 as he had a run in with Orange and got burnt.

With payment processors, there seem to be horror stories for a fair few of them, although Sage Pay & World Pay do seem to come out at the top of the running in reputable and helpful providers. Having said that, I'm sure if you look long enough, you'll find horror stories for each.

Perhaps you need to look at what you want out of a payment processor and which one can offer you what you want at a rate you're happy to pay.

As mentioned elsewhere, worth going via the Federation of Small Businesses to get a low commission deal with Streamline, and no setup costs. You're not tied to any particular Payment Gateway.

Commission rates are a bit meaningless unless one looks at turnover as well - also changes according to what you are selling.

Personally, i don't think it is necessary for you to have chargeback insurance..depending on what kind of industry are you currently in. for small businesses, maybe you can go with PayPal or Google Checkout..but I've heard a lot of bad issues, especially for PayPal regarding on their fraud protection..there are a lot of merchant account and payment gateway provider nowadays..authorize.net can be considered as one of the famous solutions for merchant account to accept credit cards online..others would be ipaydna.biz, fastcharge, eway..by the way, goodluck with your ecommerce website!

Hello, I use AlertPay or CashX.
They both have affiliate programs and tools. CashX has Prepaid Card (Mastercard).

How Does It Work?
All you have to do is sign people with your custom referral URL or your Affiliate Tool links found on your back office. Once they have signed up under your custom link, they will be in your downline! You can view your downline, and earnings at any time in your back office.

How Do You Earn?
Each time someone in your downline deposits money into their CashX account, you will earn $0.15! This happens every time that person deposits money! are added to your account in realtime! If you refer Bill, and he deposits $20 to his CashX account, will will earn $0.15. As you can see, if you have a large and active downline, you will be earning on a regular basis!
AlertPay. Up to 10th refferal, AlertPay pays you $5 and after 10th referral, you will be paid $10.00 USD a referral.

Affiliate Tools are:
