I spoke with sagepay today there rates seem 'reasonable' and on the volume our business does (about 400 card/web transactions a week) they can offer further discounts, but....

The guy i spoke to at Sagepay said ontop of there rates i needed a merchant they reccomended RBS IIRC, and there charges per transaction seemed a little steep, are there any online merchant services who dont charge per transaction ie: one flat rate payment of £50 per month or something?

Yes thats correct, from memory it was £20 per month for up to about 1000 transactions per quarter - however with them you still needed a merchant account with your bank - we have a number of clients who went down that route when they were Protx.

Hi All,
There seems to be alittle bit of confusion around Merchant Services so hopefully this will clear things up for you. In order to trade online, you will be required to set up a merchant account with one of the major UK banks that we work with. The rates that merchant banks will charge do vary depending on the type of goods you sell etc so we always recommend that you shop around to find the best deal for you.
Our fees which are seperate from the merchant bank are charged at £20 per month for processing up to 1,000 trans per quarter or 10p per transaction if you are processing over this amount.
We have recently partnered with Bank of Scotland to offer both the payment gateway service and a merchant account at extremely competitive rates. You can find more information on our website
or give us a call on 0845 111 44 55. Alternatively feel free to post any further questions here and I will get back to you.
Thanks
Amy

you can try iPayDNA since they can do processing for all types pf businesses..just google them and is should be no problem for you to find their site..they even have 24/7 live support chat (in case u don't want to fill up the form )

GUYS I JUST WANT TO WARN YOU, THIS IPAYDNA IS FRAUD, three of my best associates were not paid last year at the end they held over $70000.00 in payments for one of them with excuses, reported false processing, they sometimes offer to take care of shipping products when it is about shippable goods, well don't do that you will lose your customers, they send fake stuff, after a while and held all your money for the chargebacks and refunds for fake products, and for sportbooks they wait until you have enough on the account to then keep all the funds. They always delay payments, so fraud, keep an eye on these guys they have been banned in many other forums.
