Hi all,
My names bob and i am from Kent and this is my first post on here so be gentle please....

I am in a quandry because after about two years of tracking down suppliers, looking into dropshipping and looking into online ecomerce i have nailed it down to two companies but which one.

The problem was that my supplier has around 28000 products i can offer on my site to be,but they are all in csv format and this is a big problem for some companies dont import csv,the other problem is the number of products and the majority of companies hike up the monthly price massivly as the product numbers increase.

So i am down to two and i would like honest oppinions please.

Tiger comerce or ekm powershop purely because these companies will let me have unlimited products and i can inport and export csv files as they cange from my supplier.

love to hear your thoughts,

bob

Everyones enjoying the sun at the weekend.

Just as Google was able to track the spread of Swine Flu by monitoring the geo-locations of people searching for 'Swine Flu', I reckon you could make an accurate record of the UK's weather by charting the frequency of posting on the forum.

(OP - sorry for going off topic. I'm afraid I don't have an answer to your question, hopefully now the sun's gone in and Brazil have beaten the Ivory Coast someone will be along who can help you.)

Personally i am a fan of tiger, It's a very easy platform to design without the use of experts and is search engine friendly and the price of 17.99 is great, only thing i don't like is the design is pretty standard and it's time they intorduced some more user changable options but in time i'm sure they will continue to update the platform. i recomend you have a try of the tiger and ekm demos for a week just to have a play with the software to see how you get on with them and which you prefer before you decide

Hi all this forum lives......:D

Sorry my sense of humour....

I intend to look at tiger over the next few days as i think it will be the one but wont hold my breath. Thanks for your replies and ben my concern too is the template choice as even with my old site on google sites i had quite a choice of templates which i could switch too with a couple of clicks.Due to csv is why i am looking at tiger.

thanks all

Are you going to make this site yourself?

We make a lot of sites which have csv import/export functionality. There are also lots of ecommerce packages which have csv import. You certainly need it for managing 28k products. You might also have to play around with it for a bit, especially to get your images to work. Definitely when considering different image sizes for thumbnails etc.

Magento is one software package that will manage the thumbnails etc separately. But, it's quite a complex system unless you don't need to do much modification and you're happy to use one of the templates pretty much as is.

If not I think you might need a web professional to do at least some things for you.
