Hello all

Seeking barcodes and want to know the cost and whether its worth it for an average sale of £16.

I sell various items but am guessing you need 1 barcode per 1 item.

Thanks

If it is for your benefit only(for your own epos system) and other retailers won't be selling the items and scanning the barcodes, you could use a labeling software package to generate your own. I used to use iirc Labels unlimited.

Contact GS1, there about £120 for 100,000, you cannot buy them singly from GS1, but there are 2 companies that sell them individually, but it works out alot cheaper to buy them from GS1.

Is this all i would need in terms of numbers* to sell on amazon.

So that would mean i can sell 100,000 items on Amazon?

Sorry am just trying to get my head around this lol

Thanks

In simplest terms yes, the £100 is a yearly charge though, please ring them for the official price as it has been a while since I looked it up.

And yes that does mean you can list 100,000 products on amazon, but bear in mind if you sell branded goods you can use their barcodes, so only use the GS1 ones to list items without barcodes, or use the gs1 barcodes to seperate your listing from everyone elses, although amazon won't be happy.

It's actually quite painless and I signed up with GS1 earlier this year, you generate the numbers on their members page and have an option to create EAN-13 code images from their site (for a small fee) or there are barcode generation systems out there.

Being a member of GS1 identifies you as all the codes have your prefix.
