Parcelforce taking industrial action and DPD suspending online ordering for non account holders.

Who are you using that you'd confidently recommend to get 2 10k boxes to the West Country by Friday/Saturday AM?

I use Fedex for most stuff haven’t had a parcel go missing as yet and always turns up next day probably sent around 100 parcels with them so low volume still got an account with them though.

Thanks, I looked at Fedex earlier today but it seems that I need a formal account and can't just send ad hoc consignments?

Yes I think you do need a formal account but once your signed up you can arrange collections whenever you need was lucky that my neighbour uses them a lot and could put me in touch with their account manager.

I stuck my head in the door of the local depot today and yes, account only - 'how many parcels are we going to send, how often etc.,' Not worth us doing for a number of reasons.

They have accounts and consequently get bulk rates, pass some of the savings onto you, keep some for themselves. A good solution for low users.

We ended up using DHL and whilst it required a 30 mile round trip to the nearest depot, a bit of a faff around doing security checks and cost considerably more, they are hopefully delivering to customer today.

Probably worthy of a new thread but this week has highlighted why we have stuck with Parcelforce for so many years. We can talk to someone when things go wrong. In contrast to DPD who happily accepted our parcel on Tuesday got it to the appropriate depot by 5am next morning, have yet to deliver, have not answered a phone or email in 3 days and have point blank refused to hand over the parcel following a personal visit by our customer. The items within are awards for a presentation taking place tonight. They were shown visible evidence of such and shrugged their shoulders.
