What's a simple (didn't say easy) product to sell over the phone?

I have years of B2B telesales/telemarketing experience and I am pretty good at it. I like to think anyway!

I have saved up and want to start my own "call centre" (hate the word I prefer sales office) selling a tangible product over the phone B2B. What are some some simple products you could sell over the phone B2B that don't require much technical knowledge or the need for additional technical staff for installation/implementation?

Thanks for all your help in advance.

Most small businesses cannot afford a "call centre" or "sales office" of their own, can you put a package together for you to do the calls for them on a fixed fee basis? This way you will have minimal outlay and no products to stock or supply. Effectively freelance.

    1. Choose a product you have knowledge of and have experience selling.

    2. Target your specific audience.

    3. Offer the product at 25% less that what is currently available on the market.
(Or a % you feel will make the "customer" bite)

How skilful are you at buying?

There is a customer for everything, if the price is right.

    As @Pish_Pash would say . . . . . .You've talked the talk, now walk the walk.

The art of any business is the buying.

    Good luck with your project.

have you ever rang anyone to discuss products that have sexualised names... for instance galvanised nipples... Black japanned screws... nuts.... a Female end... a Male end...

Nah, I gave up that game years ago :D :D

To make understand client and convince them for buying product, depends on communication skills first if product is not technical.

But as per my thinking, I would say below products are eligible to sell on phone:
    • Teddy bear
    • Cakes
    • Home decor items

A call centre type business is extremley costly and risky, If you are unsure on which product what I would do if I was you is market myself, you say you have vast experience, therefore why not approach local companies and do some market research,

    how do they market?
    who to?
    what is their product/service?

There are alot of businesses out there that would love to drive new sales but cannot afford the salary of an in house salesperson, why not work on behalf of 1-3 organisations, set up a home office with a VOIP line for unlimited calls, spend time with each organisation (for free) learning the product and the trade, once built up a good enough knowledge, hit it.

With this model you could work on a commission basis, percentage of profit, £ per new client, all dependent on industry.

Only thing I would say when choosing a product/service to sell is:

1 - Make sure you believe in it
2 - Be passionate about it

Once you have a proven model that works, recruit others to join you, teach them the product/services you are currently selling and you trott off gaining more organisations to represent using your existing 1-3 as success stories.

Hope this is of value, good luck.
