Hi there, I've just started my marketing firm offering most marketing services, but i want some advice on the telemarketing aspect of things....
I've come from a very successful telemarketing background and earned my previous employers and clients a lot of money....but now I'm doing it my self now I'm a tad unsure how much I should charge? I don't want to go down the route of pay per lead as i feel these methods are often give the impression the company are going to produce a lot of low quality results just to get paid! I'm extremely confident in my abilities but where do I start?
also I'd be interested in hearing other peoples experiences with telemarketing good and bad.

The biggest problem I find with telemarketing companies is that they can't demonstrate results in a short time. I am saying this from a customers point of view as well as someone who has been in sales about 15 years. If you con demonstrate results in a short time and can demonstrate a good track record then feel free to pm me.

On a separate note I bought a telemarketing domain as an investment. Very keyword rich if you are interested: www.telemarketingb2b.co.uk

This is an excellent question. On a day rate a freelance telemarketer can charge between £120 and £450 per day, but that has lots of depends in it.

What your experience is? Who the client is? What level of sophistication do they require? Can you demonstrate a track record? How much money you want to make? What are the costs of running the project / business?

Have a think about what sort of company you want to work for. Understand what the lifetime value of the products are. Understand how much profit they are likely to make.

This will give you an idea of how valuable your work will be to them. There is a big difference to the £££ value a telemarketer can provide when the resulting sales provide £100's profit or where the resulting sale provides £100,000's.

If you can demonstrate that you are highly skilled at telemarketing the top end then you can set the best day rates and have less real competition. At the bottom end you have to fight it out on price with loads of others, but there is far more work up for grabs.

This is a real difficult question to ask your self when setting out as it will define your direction for a long time after. Good luck in your venture
