Realistically any equipment you buy that has demand will make you money almost immediately. Just you have to find a buyer first that way. Trouble is the very people you want to sell to may have been bidding against you to buy that equipment.

Knowing what people are willing to pay for 2nd hand equipment will probably help. You don't want to pay too much to buy.
