If i wanted to send items upto about 40 to 50KG who would be the best courier to use? and what kind of costs would i expect to pay (ball park) not all items i send will weigh that much most will be about the 15 to 25 KG region but the odd one will be slightly over, it's unlikely that any item will exceed an equivlent volume of 700mm square. any help appreciated thanks :)

Parcel Monkey. Half the price of DHL and they pass the order to DHL.

Thanks for that, Their pricing is good until the weight exceeds 32kg then its just a flat fee for a pallet, are their any other companies that will be more competitive than that for heavier items? I might use them for the lighter items (under 32kg) have you used them your self?

If i was to want an item to be delivered in the UK weighing 40K and having dimensions of 30cm x 30cm x 750cm what would be the best price i could expect? do the big companies offer disscount to regular customers? it's likely i will be sending about 200 items a month weighing between 5 and 50 KG

I run a sameday courier company and have next day accounts with Parcelforce and Tuffnells. Parcelforce charge around £5 for anything up to 1.5m long and 30kg max. Tuffnells will basically take anything - no limit! Costs for us are £6.50 per consignment (not per item) for the first 20kg. Subsequent kg's charged at 22p. Only snag is the £6.95 surcharge for residential addresses. I believe TNT (similar profile of freight to Tuffnells) will impose a more flat-rate of about £10 per con. In summary, for bulky stuff your best bet is to shop around between Tuffnells, TNT, and Nightfreight. Or if you can palletise your goods, expect to pay £35-£45 each. Hope that is of some use. Regards.
