currently I'm with Virgin Media using their free email service. As anyone who deals with VM will know they have migrated their email platform away from Google and the results are horrific from a user point of view.

So I am looking to change to a more reliable email provider. What are people using?

are there any free email providers out there that are any good? I only need it for sending/ receiving a small number of emails in connection with my business.

many thanks....

Do you have a website or a domain name in your company name, you can use zohomail to create a free business email. If not purchase a domain through godaddy and create a free one through zohomail.

yes I do have a business email address and website etc. Would I be better using easyspace or 123 as its registered with one or the other.

I did use Gmail for a while - am I better off going back to that?

sorry I'm a bit hazy as to how this all works.

Google Apps Mail is arguably the best solution out there.

Your web host's email service could well be better than Virgin Media's, although easyspace certainly aren't one of the better web hosts.

You should be able to change your MX records at easyspace if that's where your domain points, to use Google's or zohomail's, or another external email provider's service.

Or switch to a decent UK web host and use their email service, or the Google Apps for Work wizard that most decent hosts provide.

If you need any help then feel free to get in touch

Best of luck,

Dan

I'd second Dan's recommendation. You could go back to gmail - It's certainly reliable. I've never got along with the web interface that well myself, but if you are used to it then you should be fine :)

Otherwise you could go for basic email hosting with a decent web host, or something like Hosted Exchange or Office365. If you pick a decent provider they will walk you through everything and help you get everything setup, if not do it all for you.

We've got a few clients that have personal emails with VM and have been having lots of strange issues since the end of August - so I feel your pain.

Unfortunately I think as a "free" service they don't really operate the support as it should be. Probably an advantage of at least paying a small amount, to someone who cares!
