What is a specialist relationship manager at natwest ?

Hi can anyone help me what is a natwest specialist relationship manager?
my commercial bank manager wants me to have a meeting with him does anyone know and is this a good thing or a bad thing?:(

I am still a bit worried as my company has had some cash flow problems and my commercial manager has changed his mood towards my company. Thats why when he said about this new specialist manager I got a bit worried. Has anyone else dealt with one these specialist relationship managers before. Sould I be worried?

I know this post was some time ago and I presume this meeting has now taken place. Each bank has a different name for a manager (Specialised relationship manager, intensive care manager, categorised manager), that has a smaller portfolio so can spend more time with clients when they perceive risk to be higher. Typically this will be for businesses who are either in arrears, loss making, shortfall in security, bank manager believes there is an upcoming problem. Normally specialised relationship managers are tasked to either 'nurse' the business back to health or bolt the door to minimise losses before passing to the debt collection department. Once you have a meeting they should send you a letter fully confirming their concerns for your account and the action to be taken. At this stage you need to make a call whether you can find an alternative lender or whether you can work with the bank to ensure they don't push you into a central debt collection team.

More than happy to chat through on phone of private message.

You really want to be building plan so that you don't end up in the specialist relationships.

Ultimately they are for poorly performing company's who lending facilities with the bank are of concern.

What they don't tell you ... bizarrely, the service you get deteriorates dramatically. I have been privy to some shocking stories.

Now would be a good time to sit down with your business financial advisor

He's probably the guy who if you have an hours meeting with, will spend the first 10 minutes being jovial and asking questions about you, discussing the neighbourhood, the weather etc. The next 10 minutes listening to what you have to say and going through your financial circumstances, and the next 40 minutes trying to sell you the products that they make most commission on.
