What impact have mentors had on your business?

I almost feel bad, bringing this back to a serious discussion, but we've written a guide to finding and working with mentors based on this thread if you're interested :D

On the topic of machine learning/AI, I thoroughly recommend Garry Kasparov's Deep Thinking and Netflix documentary AlphaGo. Between them, they chart the journey from brute force to machine learning and point to what narrow AI looks like in a really entertaining way.
Well you're all wrong but who cares?

One thing you have to love about UKBF is when everyone questions the question without actually answering it

If you can comprehend the concept of AI and can understand the definition of mentor then the question is would you consider a non-human mentor to be a mentor - or not?

Fairly simple question, for smart people

Sorry I thought I'd answered the question. I said, no not currently but in the future as AI develops to a level of consciousness for real relatability and empathy then perhaps - my estimate that may even be 100 years away. When robots go out to work, live lives outside of work, and can have a chat down the pub with you and share their experiences. Sentient.
