Hi,

I am starting my first ecommerce business (initially selling a small range of imported aromatic oils) and I am trying to choose an Ecommerce hosting package.

Any recommendations? I am considering 1and1 and InMotion. I see Magenta Go is referrred to quite a lot in these threads... are they good?

I previously used Network Solutions to manage my many domains (non-ecommerce) and I want to leave them.

Or can someone refer me to a previous thread where this has been discussed?

Thanks for any advice.

Opencart - All my clients a loving it.
Cheap, easy to use, simple to make changes and has all the modern web 3.0 features.
I mentioned before theme forest provide great templates that can be customised and installed within days.
You could be up and running within a few hundred pounds and unlike hosted solutions you will own it.

If you want an easy to use web site building tool, take a look at the Weebly site builder (http://www.weebly.com/) it could be what you are after, it is also free for your first two websites. You can buy a domain name from them or if you already have the site domain name from some other provider, just point it at your Weebly site.

You can have basic paypal buttons in your weebly site, or if you want a better Weebly shopping cart with feature like stock control and more advanced shipping plan creators, we have an easy to use Weebly shopping cart add-in you could try for free to see if you like it.

Do your research and search for reviews of the companies you mention. 1&1 do not have a particularly good reputation.

I'd suggest you choose your e-commerce platform first and then decide how you host it. Magento, OpenCart, ZenCart etc are fine if you want to build an e-commerce store from the ground up and do have themes to help you on your way.

There are also solutions like Shopify and BigCommerce. These are quick to get running but are typically less customisable than the options I mention above.

Hi there! If you are starting an ecommerce business, you should choose that one that performs very well. There are a lot of shopping carts to choose from, most perform differently. I came up a review for some of the best shopping carts for easy reference:

Feel free to look at my review for easy understanding.

    Kind regards,
    Paul :)

Agree with Ali-v-8, worked on a simple solution myself using WordPress template from Theme Forest all under £100 see live at louisesjewellery.co.uk

nb not using a cart but the theme has options if needed of course
