What does "market position" mean?

The fund's combined investment capital was $1.56 bn, but using a good amount of leverage, its market position was $29.7bn as of April 1.

Whats the definition of market position, and how is it calculated?

It is basically as it sounds, a way of measuring it's position in the market. I think this can be done in different ways so the quote is a bit vague. I suspect it could mean the value of the company or the market share the company has. Difficult to say without more context.
